Bonanza Casino – Cactus Creek
Cactus Creek in the Bonanza Casino is one of those tucked-away secrets that locals love. They're serving up several gourmet Christmas dinner entrees with the choice of traditional trimmings for $32 per person. Reservations are recommended; call 323-2724 ex. 118. The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Bonanza is located at 4720 North Virginia Street. Cactus Creek is offering a take-out menu for Christmas, too, call for more information.
The Eldorado Hotel Casino
The Eldorado Buffet, always one of the best buffets downtown, offers traditional holiday items along with some exceptional Italian specialties that please young and old alike. Dinner starts at 11 a.m., and prices are: Adults, $24, Gold Card Members, $19, and Kids 10 and under, $13.
To top that, the stylish Roxy restaurant will serve gourmet Thanksgiving items along with many of their regular menu offerings. Holiday dinner starts at 4 p.m. and the three course meal prices are: Adults $35, Kids 12 and under $17. It's best to make reservations; call 800-648-5966 or 775-786-5700. Grand Sierra Resort
All the restaurants in the Grand Sierra will be offering special Christmas menus in addition to their regular menus. Try Biscola, Charlie Palmer Fish, or Charlie Palmer Steak for gourmet holiday fare. Reservations are recommended for all the restaurants. Call (775) 324-9444 for reservations. The Peppermill
The Peppermill buffet offers a traditional menu along with many of their customers' favorites this holiday season. Breakfast begins at 8 a. m. and continues through 10 a.m., while dinner starts at Noon and continues until 9 p.m. at the Island Buffet. Adults are $11.99 for breakfast $24.99 for dinner, and children from 4 through 11 are $9.99 for breakfast and $12.99 for dinner. If you're not into the buffet, try the new Saucy's Smokehouse or the Tuscany Ballroom, two of the new venues open in the recent Peppermill expansion, serving holiday fare, too. At the Nugget, always a local favorite, two buffets the Rotisserie and Convention Center, will offer holiday courses for everyone. The Rotisserie serves dinner from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Convention Center buffet is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The price for either one is: Adults, $22.95 and Children aged 5-11, $11.95.
